What is Char?

Piping hot or chilled on ice, whichever is your cup of tea, our char will not disappoint. The word comes straight from 19th century England, while our tea comes directly from Benjamin Tea, a boutique tea company.

Put the two words together and they create a charming neighborhood oasis for all things Caffeine and Fare.

As committed coffee enthusiasts, we understand the importance of a good cup of "Mud". Which is why we are working with Tugboat, coveted Chicago-based coffee roaster. Our coffee is brewed daily from freshly ground beans to bring you the smoothest and richest flavors.

When it comes to tea, we know what’s brewing. Our selection of premium teas are handpicked from sources around the world. In result, we’ve curated a vast collection of teas that satisfy every palate.

Not to brag, but we’ve got this whole healthy food thing down. Everything on our menu is made daily with the freshest ingredients, harvested from local farms in the midwest. Our sustainable fare is meant to fuel your body with the nutrients it needs, without sacrificing flavor.
